The Land Rover Discovery with air-intake snorkel can drive through some interesting terrain. The nose dipped fully under water a couple times.

The sandy soil below kept us from getting stuck.

The Okavango Delta in Botswana is an amazing place. A huge river empties into an inland desert and disappears.

woww you went to Delta de l’ Okavango… this is like Paradise on Earth… one of my dream travel for the near future =) Please share more photos =) Did you go kayaking or horse riding in it ? Heard it s an amazing experience for getting close to the wild life without scaring them..

What they don’t tell you when they sell you that snorkel option is that you’re supposed to repack the hub bearings every time the wheel is submerged more than half way. Definitely fun if you aren’t the mechanic though.

Yeah – they have a shop there and they replace that and the differential fluid each week!
