Ron Gutman’s TED U talk is a blast of refreshment.

Wonder how much more often kids smile than adults?

How many bars of chocolate produce the same endogenous endorphins as a smile?

And maybe we see smiles everywhere… =)

  1. The effect of the image looks like a Buddha sculpture head with unusual open smile.

  2. Wow, amazing scene. Can’t wait to check it out – thanks as always Steve.

    "seed cathedral", love that.

  3. i loved this talk too! especially the part about tribe with cannibalistic rituals who still expressed the joy of living this way like everyone else:D very funny…

although would be strange to use this type of "research" to forecast someone’s future…ok, this is my smile in one particular picture… hm, it is not like some real sample with hundreds or thousands images, what if somebody has a stomach ache when picture was taken… and please tell me my potential success rate in terms of my career or personal life… some fortunetelling… entertaining though… and the message about smiling is wonderful any way!

    seed cathedral is so cooool!

  4. It looks like, "I AM OZ, THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE."

  5. You, I predict, are an above-average frequency smiler.

  6. :)))
    must be the childlike mind…

Someone came up to me after the talk and mentioned that I was beaming throughout.

P.S. if you want to see a longer video on the making of the seed cathedral. This image is from that presentation
