Morgan Spurlock presents his new movie, trying to bring transparency to product placement and corporate sponsorship. He says it was more difficult than his last one, Supersize Me.

His TED Talk gives a playful poke to the modern Mad Men.

One of my favorite lines:
“I like the way you roll Sergey Brin.”

  1. Well…I guess I am the 900,000,001th person to "interact" with his project…via that video.
    He is a very good salesman.
    Reminds me of the movie "The Hustler"….but when I Google it this is the first hit;

    ? The internet (for sales folks) is like the California goldrush…

  3. Supersize me is a good topic…fast food is plain poison…so loading kids with it is a child abuse:(

  4. Did some reading on this guy and I have to add that maybe my first assessment was a bit hard…
    I guess you have to "sell yourself" to get $$ to make a movie…
    Looks like him and Don Quixote would have been good pals though…

  5. Spurlock is more a Michael Moore than anything remotely Quixotic. However he could play the role of Sancho to Moore’s Quixote if they link up for a new schlockumentary. Oh, given Moore’s dimensions, Don Q. was rail thin if I recall, Spurlock could live exclusively on Jenny Craig for the role of Don Q. to Moore’s oversized Sancho. Spurlock and Moore could also team up for a clever docu-dramatic reiteration of Merchant of Venice with Spurlock as Shylock to Moore’s morose Antonio who has fallen on hard times due to any number of evil global corporations.
    Of course they could also easily recreate the Islamic slapstick in Persian Letters as the hapless duo of Usbek and Rica if they choose to take on edgy mideast issues combined with a comfy trip to France.

  6. How about anyone who believes here that welfare countries fare better think about it twice: just heard a report this morning that France is the second highest taxed country in the world after Austria… with a whopping 42% of total national GDP taxed… Almost every other Euro people make goes to government! And anyone still thinks government services are any better over there? Education, healthcare, public transportation on strike 200 days a year out of 365!… Doctors paid EUR 24.00 per consultation…! France Telecom employees taking on average 20 sick days per year… Any idea on how that would translate in the US with the same system??

  7. Very interesting, being in marketing myself. I bet this was a great presentation!
