  2. Since wolves are the size of some domesticated dogs, it’s hard to remember they are NOT domesticated. That’s a difference from big cats… No house cat is ever as big as a cougar or tiger.

  3. Even sitting with wolf/dog hybrids will quickly disabuse you of domestication. Being analyzed by intelligent, hungry yellow eyes will produce goosebumps and a renewed genetic validation that you are prey.

A shout out to Wildlife Waystation and Martine where I learned to love, admire and the difference.

  4. Very scruffy and long-legged.

  5. Yes, long legged critters, aren’t they.

    Great photo.

  6. Aren’t they beautiful!

  7. Beautiful animals, but they lead a harsh and difficult life that, compared to dogs, is usually much shorter. Wonderful wildlife photo.

  8. is it the same couple?[http://www.flickr.com/photos/jurvetson/4950032287/]

also it is truly amazing how human emotions-feelings can be projected easily in this case – on these two pairs of wolves… it is obvious about the kissing one but even the second pair marching together – looking like they are in a conversation… cool catch!

  9. nope, looks like a different couple..
