In Estonia, we celebrate on XXmas eve, so let me be the first to wish you the best, whatever your tongue.

As for the photo, I thought Santa was getting the shake down at my friend’s party, but it’s actually a scene from that classic oldie: “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.” Seemed topical.

When I asked about them: “As a bonus we found them very effective at scaring away deer and small children.”

  1. Might want to borrow them next spring and summer to chase away the deer. They love to eat my hosta……….

  2. I have not seen it, but from the movie poster, you can tell it had cutting edge special effects:

It’s amazing how far we have come with film over the past 40 years…

  3. French Canadians have the same tradition as our French ancestors, we have Réveillon. It means to stay up all night on Christmas Eve and night. Traditionally, we would go to mass at midnight and then go home to open presents, eat and celebrate all night. In Québec we eat tourtière (our French Canadian meat pie) for the Réveillon. Now, I just eat tourtière in late evening and stay up as usual. 🙂

Have a nice Christmas Eve and Day!

    Joyeux Noël!

  4. Funny one, never seen Santa and martians together:)
    The best for you all!

  5. Have a Merry Martian Christmas and a New Years that’s out of this world!

  6. Science-Fun-Fiction! Pudding for everyone.

    Please check my photos 🙂

  8. Häid Pühi! I am sure you know the XXmas part of the December holidays is not really so big in Estonia. It is really a quiet time we spend with our families, mostly wisting parents and siblings. The picture seems like a greeting for you, in a good humor sense :)? Best wishes!
