  1. Great post – thank you very much – from a Veteran.

  2. Fans of the Discovery channel’s show "The Myth Busters" will recognize the M551 Death Stalker as one of the two tracked vehicles used to pull two ordinary phone books with interleaved pages apart after ten people and two rental cars were unable to do it.

  3. I spent an incredible day with my son and my grandson at the Jacques Littlefield museum in Portola Valley Ca. We rode tanks and prime movers and had a blast. The "Deathstalker", the only working privately owned example, is there and occasionally visits Half Moon Bay. They also have an operating fully functional German "Panther" tank and the 12 ton halftrack that Lee Marvin drove in "The Dirty Dozen"
There are many links about the museum. These give a good overview:

  4. Amazing how far these vehicles have come since my father rode in tanks at the end of the Korean War.

  5. No to wars and yes to tulips 🙂
