Taking pressure off the spigot, like clockwork.

The eye of Yellowstone is the caldera of the largest active volcano in the world. The magma chamber is 5 miles underground and powers 10 thousand bubbling, spouting fissures around the park.

The last major eruption was 640,000 years ago, and the one before that was 660,000 years prior. It ejected 8000 times as much hot ash as Mount St. Helens… thousands of feet deep for miles, stretching to Chicago, and devegetating 1/3 of America.

So it adds a certain excitement to the lands. =)

BBC docu-drama of the next one.

reminds me of the movie where a mad scientist wanted to destroy our world by getting volcanoes and geysers on one side of the planet to erupt at the same time 🙂

  5. It’s 9 months pregnant and contractions are starting

  6. Oh, I am so glad it did not erupt to destroy "la petite planète" while you were visiting!

Steve, was that you just adding some vinegar to the baking soda in the Geyser whole? It must be fantastic to be there and get sprayed. It is a beautiful place to be. Cheers.

  7. Hey, we were in Yellowstone on the 29th too. But over by the Lake.
