I just posted the launch video in case you missed it — here it is (HD recording), and part 2 (orbital insertion).

SpaceX will produce a professional one over the next few days, and my colleague Josh filmed one at the Cape.

In the foreground is the Falcon 9 model, and the background is the Apollo 14 simulator plate used for LM Pilot trailing (perhaps the only one remaining from the Apollo program).

  3. I’m sure a little of your DNA rubbed off and is now circling the Earth! Exciting video. A large step for future space exploration. By the way I think that "bird" was a wasp! Oh well, if the launch had to have some "bugs", better off the 6 legged variety!
