I reminded of a conversation I had with an 86-year-old retired cardio/thoracic surgeon. His family had very little money yet his father encouraged he and his brother to get through undergrad then med school at McGill. Fast forward 20 years, when his father was dying in Boston, Dana Farber was the attending physician and turned down his dad’s request to leave what little money he had to the hospital as a thanks for the quality of care he received. Dana Farber explained that he couldn’t take his money because he had already made his contribution by producing two well respected physicians.
So congrats to you, but even more importantly to your parents for such a wonderful contribution to this world!
Thx. I just last night transcoded the newly discovered video my dad took in 2010. His tapes had been lost in the closet clutter for a decade (and my Dad passed in 2014).
