Champagne glasses rose this evening for the opening of the Hasso Platner Institute of Design.
Engineering Dean Plummer and IDEO founder David Kelly introduced Hasso, relaying a jibe from his SAP colleagues that he is much more funny in English.
The atrium area is literally bridging the interstices of formerly discrete academic buildings. The sandstone wall on the right used to be an external wall, to the material science building in which I worked and photographed atoms many moons ago.
Hasso took the stage and mentioned that this was the best investment that he has made.
He also said that President Hennessey summarized it best: “I get it. We teach the students to trust in their ability to innovate.”
