After spending some time nearby, the moms seemed comfortable enough with my presence to come out of the canopy shadows and let their newborns play.

The males seemed diffident, perhaps from the afternoon heat.

Here are some video clips of a juvenile howler monkey climbing along the sea cliffs of Papagayo Peninsula of Costa Rica. Then a couple adults start swinging through the trees and hang from their tails to feed on the elusive tree tips below.
