Then they dart about and change color to evade the paparazzi, in this case me, snorkeling above. I spent quite some time floating nearby waiting for them to emerge from their nooks (some decorated with shells).
Their color change to match the background is startling, as it appears to be instantaneous. I’ll post a zoom shot below to show how hard they can be to see…
I have not quite mastered the use of telephoto while snorkeling, so the video looks a bit like The Blair Witch Project, with the action crawling just off frame…
