P.S. This whole perspective is so surreal, looking down an ARM (Anti-Radar Missile)….

  2. amazing series of photos, well done.

  3. wow… really nice series.

  4. if one of those rockets goes through an f-18 windsheild (as per previous photos of trucks at blackrock), someone’s gonna get a very scary bill 😉

  5. Great shots!, brings back memories of when I worked at Nasa Ames for a few years as a SCU college intern in the 10 story building next to the runway. Originally it was used to test full-size Atlas rockets. A unique feature of this huge building is that the air can be pumped out (power plant across the street) down to 3mm mercury to simulate outer-space conditions. 3 foot thick concrete walls keep the building from imploding. We installed our own wind tunnel to simulate Martian geological conditions.

  6. I heard one of the ARM’s on the other wing went missing right before you left Steve… remember to repaint it before bringing it to balls.

  7. Killer grabs. Pretty impressive resolution really.

  8. "no magnetic sweepers"

Good to know. Taking note. A general warning for aliens and most specially for alien witches with their space brooms.
Very timely as well, close to halloween…

    !

Oh! ah! uh!… See what day’s today, btw!

  9. just noticed that a bunch of my shots from this event made it into the LUNAR Clips, p.6-7.

  10. Moffett lets you fire rockets off the runway?

  11. Yeah! We had to ask. =)

  12. I have some cool Apollo era and space shuttle era items for sale that I bought at the charles Bell aerospace auction 20 years ago Steve Jurvetson email me for photos: vcvdc@msn.com
