lastmin: You notice that they cut away from me as I am frantically waving "no" with my hands… Perhaps it’s because we were goofing around so much backstage before the segment… I hope to get some of those photos from her…
Did receive this grainy iPhone shot of the Cisco mock hotel. I don’t think anyone has made use of the facilities… =)
Good interview!! I would like to know how much bigger is the chance for getting the financing from you then from a lottery? 🙂 How large a % of proposals do you turn down? Do you have a list of points, that need a mark to get to the batch meant for final consideration? No worries, I won’t apply, as I ever only want one thing, and it is ridiculous, so no point to waste time with me. But I will keep cheering for you!
Funny part about economic indicators like ISM or "Beige Book". I live on the other side of the world (Poland), geographically and economically, but as a futures markets analyst it’s actually a part of my job to analyze those US figures, sometimes heh.. You are dealing with several big businesses and seem not to care about detailed economic data, kinda more long term approach 🙂
right… it’s an unusual sector of finance, closer to the evaluation of people and intuition on tech trends. For a sense, we have no need for Excel in our daily work.
j_silla: better than winning the lottery for sure (the lottery is, unfortunately, a tax on the statistically challenged). We invest in 12-24 new companies from the 10-50K business plans we get each year.
