Obama Postcard

I just went through my Obama photos to personalize my Time Capsule, and found so many that I wish I could weave in…. like this sunny disposition, used for a “Bright Future” postcard.

Smolan continues to push personalized book publishing from cover shots to embedded graphics and text. For example, in the Time Capsule, you can enter your own name to the inauguration invitation. I think he was trying to accommodate most buyers who have enthusiasm and art to contribute. Hopefully the format can allow for multiple pages of user generated content… to memorialize the cultural aftertaste of a shared experience. If variable page length binding is difficult, perhaps they could have a section of b-roll photos somewhere, and the purchaser could optionally swap out 0-10 pages of their own photos there.

And meanwhile, I was watching Obama’s June 4 speech in Cairo about America’s relationship with the Muslim world. Can you imagine Bush trying to build bridges like that? I think it’s an important talk, worth viewing.
