Yeah, the flares leading up to the stars is my favorite detail… I thought this looked very Trekkie!
When I first saw JJ’s flares — when the Romulan craft engulfs the screen — I immediately thought of JJ’s Mystery Box, and similar mystery building obfuscation used in Alien.
