the first car to drive on the Letterman stage. With zero emissions, it is fine to drive indoors.

Letterman segment last night, interviewing CEO Elon Musk, and introducing Elon Musk for Men…. (image below)

Letterman has bought a Tesla Roadster, which drives like a “bat out of hell”, and he shares his concern (or maybe hope?) that it will “magnetize his nuts.”

At the end, when Elon shares the price of the car, he says twice that there is a “very important point” but Letterman gets distracted by the ladies and his electric car antics… and so it ends with a cliffhanger.

I had to ask Elon, and here it is:
“I was trying to say that the Model S is really only about as expensive as a Ford Taurus when you figure in the gasoline cost savings!”

  5. wow! Tesla Sedan….amazing!!

  6. I watch Letterman each night while working on the computer. Knowing the show, I can assure you that any attempt by a serious person to share too much important information with the host and the audience is usually fruitless on such a show that is meant for pure entertainment. Letterman was his usual silly self so Mr. Musk ought not to feel bad in any way. Nonetheless, I found it frustrating for him since he is not used to the entertainment circuit.

  7. The Tesla sedan reminds me of the Maserati Quattroporte. So pretty.

  8. The car is absolutely gorgeous, and the dashboard is going to be KILLER

  9. Whats the point buing any gasoline car?

  10. I saw the Dateline segment on Tesla yesterday. The cars seem pretty cool, but personally, I’m hanging onto my steam-powered buggy with the gigantic wooden-spoked wheels. Magic carpets are going to be the next big thing.
