It just grew and grew and grew, popping out both sides.

  1. oh, that’s not good.

  2. Also happened to my 17" MacBook Pro.

  3. Can you imagine this on the scale of a Tesla? 🙂

  4. Not sure how old your comp is but I remember when they had a battery recall program awhile back that I qualified for.

  5. Achtung! Das computen maschine is nicht fur gefingerpoken und mitten grabben. Es ist tzu easy der schnappen der springenwerk, fusengeblowen und poppen corken mit spitzen sparken. Is nicht fur gewerken by das amateurischen.

Wenn das batterie is expanden und der backen gepoppen ist – den is der warranty-seal gebroken!

Hah! In Cupertino gibt es keine dumkopf! Wir zind nicht stupid.

  6. Maybe it was just happy to see you.

jitze jajaja My son translated for me.

  7. I wonder why this things happen only on certain days 😉
    (Good one!)

  8. April antics it seems! My computer wants to be a zeppelin.

Agrinberg: That’s why they run liquid cooling over all 6,831 laptop cells and fiber optics for monitoring (and they are the cylindrical Lithium Ion cells, not the LiPo cells you see here). The average laptop exercises the laptop cells in the worst possible pattern for battery life (with deep discharge and high temperature).

C.Y.: This also was in a MacBook Pro 17" It has a flakey sensor for screen closure, so frequently it would not go to sleep in my bag and would heat up to toaster temps.

  9. Ugh… Sorry, I really thought this was an April Fool… *blush*

  10. at least it didn’t explode like one of the more infamous youtube videos from a year or two ago…

LiPo batteries scare me. Battery manufacturers keep making internal linings thinner and thinner to squeeze every last amp hour into their batteries. It’s not safe. Explosive compounds next to my most sensitive data (and favourite toy) hmm…..

There’s your problem. The proper way to appreciate delicate Chinese organic ingredients is to inflate their skins like balloons before roasting them, not after.

  12. Oook, that’s ugly. Toasting batteries does tend to be bad, yep. I’m glad I’m not the only one accidentally doing it though… I’ve taken to making sure that it goes to bed before putting it in, and that’s done pretty well.
