  1. Pleasant shot but no cigar.

  2. wow… like shard of broken glass!
    nice puffy clouds too 🙂

  3. Don’t we all! Hundreds per outing and thousands in all.

    This could very well be from another planet, at least as we like to imagine. Very cool…or should I say hot!

  4. Have you heard of the vog in Hawaii?

  5. Mimosa – I had not heard that term berfore, and I have not seen it look thick like smog. But, in Kona, the volcanic gases drift to the South for some fantastic sunsets…

  6. All superb sunsets that were wonderful to look at again. Maybe one day, I will see some in person.

    You know how new words tend to come up at the right time. I was looking at your photo where I had just made a comment and heard an actress talk on television about her eyes that were constantly irritated while working in Hawaii. She said people kept telling her that was because of the vog. She explained. So you and I learned about this word more or less at the same time. I find it an interesting word to know.

  7. The landscape on Kona resembles nothing so much as a habitable, terraformed Mars. Hardened ropes of lava run down to the water’s edge.

    @oklo

    In the pre-dawn light, the air was totally silent, and it was easy to imagine that I was actually on Mars, before the water was gone, when a Northern hemispheric ocean lapped up against the lava of the lowermost slopes of Elysium Mons.

  8. Hi, I’m an admin for a group called ARTISTIC ORIGINALS ©, and we’d love to have this added to the group!
