Many buildings with many cars, and a test drive today in a new vehicle that is a bit of a Tesla in Sheep’s clothing.

The zeppelin tourists overhead made it all the more surreal.

  1. It seems to me that maybe the government should help Tesla the way it’s considering helping GM. What do we want the future to be, anyway?

Looking forward to some "inside" pictures!

  2. Tesla is a "buy" in the Obama administration – the part about "Building green, fuel-efficient cars not built in China or South Korea but here in the Unites States". How many times have we heard that from Obama?

  3. ooh don’t tease!!! What is it???

  4. I thought the Tesla cars were made under a manufacturing agreement by Lotus in the UK. Please correct if I’m wrong.

They’re still green, as long as the batteries are recycled at the end of their life. As a bonus, they look fun to drive. A responsible car that is not a street-legal golf cart as some "green" vehicles seem to be…

  5. Yes… Li Ion batteries have positive recycling value. The first car (Roadster) is in partnership with Lotus. The Sedan and other projects need not be. I was referring to something that’s just a brilliant rumor at this point. You wouldn’t know it had Tesla Inside unless it was moving =)

agrinberg: Thomas Friedman published similar sentiments on this very day…

  6. Nice link – How about that last sentence – "…the G.M. iCar" !

  7. Don’t suppose it was one of those Smart cars with missing tailpipes…

  8. I’d love to give Tesla a federal bridge loan instead of the Detroit Big 3. Speed their march to smaller, more affordable passenger cars.

  9. Elon Musk wrote an editorial on this today…. as have others in the NYT (I was in the shop when that photo was taken) and elsewhere: "Give the $34 Billion to Tesla"
