Been following this electric car’s development closely for two years (photos)…
The high speed charger is on the left, and thanks to SolarCity, it connects to the solar panels. No more gas!

Letterman’s Top 5:
5) Where do you shovel the coal?
4) Do you have extra batteries in the trunk for the 1000-watt stereo?
3) In California, electric cars don’t require license plates.
2) Is it flip-proof? 😉
1) Where’s the "Sea-o-Rama" bumper sticker?
"zero emissions" just curious to the full lifecycle emissions of the energy required to power the Tesla. Since USA is primarily a coal powered energy nation (followed by nukes and hydro-neither of which look to expand in the future) , and the only sector that exceeds transport for CO2 emissions is power generation. I won’t bring up lithium mining…
what is the real-world charge time/range equation of the vehicle?
re: "no more gas" – must be a great, liberating, clean-feeling. I feel increasing pain and nausea at every reciprocation of my IC engine…at every smog belching start-up…at every stop light listening to the engine run…in every traffic jam using 250 horse power to go 3 miles an hour…at every fill-up that diverts my money to an obsolete and harmful technology…at every oil change thinking of how electric motors require none. Having owned one of the first Honda Insight Hybrids, I am now waiting for the moment to jump into all electric…or at least innovative mostly all-electric hybrid (fisker karma, etc.) T-minus 12 months. I would have been an early Tesla buyer/reserver except I actually doubted the product would ever get to market. Great to see things moving along — Let the electrification of American transportation begin!
Congrats! glad to see it home!
Hope a sedan for the masses will be here soon! Have fun & thanks for reducing your carbon footprint even more!
Carbon fiber bike? Carbon fiber car. Where is the carbon fiber rocket!
We gotta get that baby done.
hopefully this wasn’t the tesla that was crashed a couple months ago.

sweet ride though!
hmmm… reminds me of the last time I went spinning with the gang….
rocketmavericks: carbon-fiber everything! Making sequestration fun!
msamaclean: The Tesla WhiteStar sedan is cranking along. Designed as an electric vehicle (vs. a retrofit), it will have many cool features, like a battery array low down at the bottom of the car. It will handle so well with that weight distribution. And in the meantime, there will be more affordable cars from Reva and Think.
rrelam: I am at zero carbon emissions since I am charging this car off solar panels at home. For the user running off the grid, Tesla estimates that the car produces 1/10 the pollution of gas cars and 50% less than a Prius.
I was just driving up Sand Hill Road from campus to SLAC, and guess who I saw passing me in his Tesla…. 🙂
Hi, I’m an admin for a group called Show ur Snaps, and we’d love to have this added to the group!
That is why Tesla was forcibly forgotten. That is why he was not in your textbooks. Nikola Tesla caused Earthquake Milne Shide No 333 a twenty seven day earthquake commencing on a second divisible by 3 times 3 times 3 in a minute divisible by 3 in an hour divisible by 3 on a day divisible by 3 in a month divisible by 3 times 3 in a year divisible by 3 times 3. That is why he died in Room #3327. 3h03m27s September 3, 1899. BITCHES I WIN. TESLA MADE EARTHQUAKES & YOU LIARS OFF TO HELL
