  3. Wow, such an honor and a privilege!

Hats off to all those great men and women who made this happen. Fantastic human spirit.

  4. Slightly eerie. Good light.

  5. To see that thing up close in real life, gives new meaning to the space program of that time and the most heroic levels of not being claustrophobic, becuase its so darn small, its more like 3 beds in 1 tiny bathroom, surrounded by a tin can that you can hardly believe anyone would go anywhere with, let alone a half million miles of space.

  6. Is that the 11 capsule at the Air and Space? If so, did u get over to the Annex and see the Enterprise Shuttle? Its a very cool museum if u get time its over near Dulles airport.

  7. Most of the manuals can be found on NASA archive servers. A good guy has compiled a nice link list for easy access.

More stuff than you can chow.

  8. I think this is the command module from the Skylab 4 mission. The last time I went to the Air and Space museum it was suspended from the ceiling on the second floor.

  9. Dave- Yes, and it’s identical to the Apollo program

    wow – thanks hk1963

  10. I believe this is the same command module that was stored at Ames Research Center for a few years. I was able to get a very close look inside, and yes, it is somewhat claustrophobic inside. From the center seat/bed one can reach just about every one of the hundred toggle switches on the console above the seats.

  11. Hi, I’m an admin for a group called Outer Space & Beyond, and we’d love to have this added to the group!
