The ABC mobile film crew dropped by for a segment tonight (ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson; for Silicon Valley, it’s KGO at 5:30).

They wanted to talk about how rising oil prices are spurring technology innovation.

It was a great opportunity to talk about companies like Tesla, Enernoc, Synthetic Genomics, Glycos Bio, Brightsource and Konarka, but we’ll see what survives the edit, if any… =)

Thanks for the snapshot Marta!

  1. the limelight looks scary,…

  2. I don’t think they lit you well enough….

  3. Cool behind-the-scenes view.

  4. if any…

well, gosh, just a couple brief comments in the end… (video segment)

  5. You look all set up for having some dental work too.
    Two birds…
    One stone…

  6. Nice to see you in front of a camera!
Go Konarka!!! I cant afford a Tesla, yet, but the solar film/ink is on my shopping list for our retirement home in Az. I’m very excited about this big step forward!!! Along with wind power, a cistern, & passive solar mass, we hope to live the rest of our lives off the grid & green.

  7. this may have been discussed and edited out – in your portfolio, where do you see the (scaleable) opportunities coming first? (can take this off-line)

  8. Even if only a couple of brief comments, you did get to say something and you will be remembered as someone who has something to say about the subject. It will in the end reap some rewards. It has too, after all that hot lighting (and maybe some make-up?)! Seriously, getting to be heard is always worth it.

It looks like you are getting a tan!

  9. I was distracted by the palm fronds in the background, which were much more apparent in the newsclip than this picture. I was anxiously waiting for a guy in a tin hat to peer through the undergrowth and announce in a mittel-european accent "verrrry interrresting".

  10. Your smile doesn’t need that much lighting!

  11. That mobile camera team from ABC are not very "green" minded. For a couple of minutes take, they used over 1000 watts of power while closing the blinds behind you… peculiar?
