In this case a field full of hidden doggie treats, and about a hundred dogs scrambling around to sniff them out…

For them, it was probably just as exciting as the Easter Egg rocket. =)

  1. love that (temporarily) green California countryside…

  2. A field full of smelly "chocolat" threat too, after that =P

  3. Oo I wish I had hills instead of fir and pine forests blocking all land!

  4. dang…. I best not tell my dog, Scout, about this… she’d never forgive me.

  5. out of curiosity….. any ‘noticeable’ differences between the 870is compared to yer previous one?
    🙂

  6. Not so great. Presumably we are comparing the wide-angle pocket cams. I was very disappointed with the Lumix FX100. The noise level made the 12MP resolution a joke. The old 3MP Casio does much better in low light. So I was hoping that it was a Panasonic-specific problem as I had heard rumored. So far, I am only mildly disappointed with the Canon 870. The 8MP images seem less noisy, but it’s not quite as good as the Canon 700, for example. With that main issue aside, the secondary benefits of the 870 over the FX100 are: bigger 3" screen and a better macro zoom. Panasonic is better than Canon for movies, if you care about that (higher resolution and MPEG file format).

I’m generally pretty excited about new cameras… For example the Canon G9 absolutely rocks, and will be my main camera for now (glad I got it instead of the Leica D-Lux 3).

@Tomi: do I hear a longing for some serious logging? 😉

  7. Looks like fun! My gang would have had fun! Where you and your dog or dogs participating?

Seen on your photo stream. (?)

  8. no, just mountain biking by.

It has been a few years since I had dogs…. two Samoyeds in a row:

    good dog Ultimate Frisbee

I recently learned of my common heritage with the original breeders of these fine dogs: "The Samoyed dog takes its name from the Samoyedic peoples of Siberia. These nomadic reindeer herders bred the fluffy, white, smiling dogs to help with the herding, to pull sleds when they moved, and to keep their owners warm at night by sleeping on top of them." 9. Oh, and now there is a sign "to dogs" on this trail: IMG_1256

  10. Wonder if AirDogs are allowed… 🙂
