Hanging out at Mavericks today… out the side of a huge Huey helicopter, sporting vintage bullet holes in the belly from its tour of duty in Vietnam.

I felt possessed to hum Ride of the Valkyries into the headphones as we approached the surfers in the distance….

    Yep, it’s the former. And what do you mean, cynical?! Just recalling the old ‘Nam-era story about taking prisoners up in choppers: "If they said they were VC, we pushed them out for being VC. And if they said they weren’t VC, we pushed them out because they were lying." Rough times!
