at the dizzying sky bar precipice on the 64th floor rooftop.

Bangkok, Oriental setting…

One night in Bangkok and the world’s your oyster
The bars are temples but the pearls ain’t free
You’ll find a god in every golden cloister
And if you’re lucky then the god’s a she
I can feel an angel sliding up to me

  1. wow…incredible view!

i just read that tim rice is working on a film version for "chess"…should be interesting if it’s as good as his lyrics!

  2. love the silhouettes

  3. lovely capture steve

Seen on my Flickr home page. (?)

  4. And the poem too…

  5. that’s a pretty small railing on those steps for a 64 story building!

  6. Great view !

A classic 80’s song. Each time I go to BKK I think of it.

  7. Don’t forget to add this to the * Vanishing Points * Group!

  8. Feels like Star Wars point of view =)

  9. One of those shots where I’m dizzy just looking at it.

  10. There used to be a small amusement park on top of Mah Boon Krong with a ferris wheel that would take you out over the edge each time around. Not 64 stories but still very exciting. I think they took it out some time in the 1990s.

  11. This is a wonderful view. The silhouettes are very nice.

  12. It seems Bangkok is best view from high up and offers a few rooftop bars. This sky bar at lebua on top of the State Tower is most interesting with the mix of architectures. A cupola this high and over a modern sky scrapper is a superb idea.

It must have been quite enchanting to be there and to see the amazing and breathtaking view. A beautiful shot!

  13. Beautiful image. We had dinner there in September 06. Unfortunately, due to the traffic to get there (I know, hard to imagine in Bangkok, LOL), I missed seeing the sun setting. Still, what a wonderful night view! Thanks for sharing.

  14. This brings me back to the time when I lived in Bangkok! We had cocktails here once. It was alright but just too windy!

  15. I wouldn’t have picked the architecture as being in Bangkok.

    A+++ Grade Photo
