A school of the silver fish nibbled at my silver camera. It was great fun, but ended up obscuring about half of the shots I was trying to take of other fish.

I love this photo! What setting did you use? I also have the optio and I’ve been experimenting with all the modes but my underwater photos don’t come out this sharp.

thanks. I think I was shooting in "underwater mode" but it’s not much better than automatic (just shifts the color space I think).
I have a hard time getting a focus in low light. The trick is just to take a ton of photos! I like about 5% of the ones I take. Sometimes I get lucky and everyone freezes for the shot (motion blur otherwise).
This one is better than most of my dolphin shots because it is actually in fairly shallow water under bright sunlight.
