   What suprised me a lot, the first time i saw it, was the secruity car around the "caravan". When they move the astronauts to the shuttle. Very heavy armor car..and armed personel around it !

   The skid array looks customized and reinforced to support the weight of numerous men. The seating is obviously configured to allow for the weapon system starboard.

   I would agree that this isn’t an observation chopper.

   How odd… sure sounds like overkill to me:
   "KSC SWAT flies by the VAB and Launch Control. The door gunner is pointing out potential bird strikes to the pilot. KSC is a nature preserve so it not unusual to have a lot of wildlife."
