At midnight, Barcelona comes alive…

Los invisibles atomos del aire
En derredor palpitan y se inflaman;
El cielo se deshace en rayos de oro;
La tierra se estremece alborozada;
Oigo flotando en olas de armonia
Rumor de besos y batir de alas;
Mis parpados se cierran… ?Que sucede?
!Es el amor que pasa!

The viewless atoms of the air
Around me palpitate and burn,
All heaven dissolves in gold, and earth
Quivers with new-found joy.
Floating on waves of harmony I hear
A stir of kisses, and a sweep of wings;
Mine eyelids close–“What pageant nears?”
“‘Tis Love that passes by!”

  1. Too right. Try getting dinner there before 10.00 p.m…

  2. see, it´s strange that I may find the small version of a pic good for itself, for any reason…

    there´s something the thumb reveals about the geometry of this photo I love. See it?

    Most *beautiful* poem… Made me write one!!! 😀

  3. Interesting, your Spanish is good, but I am sure you can not speak this tongue 🙂 Alustuseks plaanime me arendada Muinas-Eesti ja põhjala teemalise kõrg-fantaasia zaanris rauaaega jääva täispika inglisekeelse mängufilmi “Megalith”. Selle töö käivitamiseks on vaja 0,5 milj krooni. welcome.quicksummer.com/?topic=forumtopic&id=261 Asking this here seems to relate to a stranger coming up to you at a dark ally in Barcelona and asking for a business romance. But is there chemistry like on this picture?

  4. Way too cool, way too cool….
    I agree with Gisela about the thumb.
    However, I enjoy the mood you brought with the photo (full size).

  5. alas, you and Gisela are the romantics… Right you are… this photo looks very different in full size

    Gi – not sure I am seeing the thumb pattern… If I squint, I see a |-)

  6. we are. ♥

    Well, I guess it´s basically about what you agree with: the pic in its 3 sizes is different and has like a mood of its own. The large one reveals the love scene and the sort of voyeur behold… the middle size (here) reveals the whole composition with an accent in the reflection with the pond… the thumb reveals the geometry, the green at the bottom becomes like a spot, a vanishing point. the perspective drew by the lights and the walls gets clearer and the split of the image in two for the pond’s edge is notorious too… both parts, the real view and the reflection get balanced and the simetry is more enjoyable.

    ¿?

    when I squint I see a P-) tho…!

  7. Can anyone read the graffiti? Does it say "amore" (but that would be Italian, not Spanish) or maybe camote (means lover but also knave)?

  8. I tried, maesk, but I cannot figre it out either! I only deciphered that the drawings are like piggies eating?

    Steve?

    (I found a very old book from Adolfo Becquer home, btw)
