This is what I found at the office… more of a bouncy playground than usual…

Looking at it, I recognize many flickr photo subjects, tagged above.

  1. That’s sweet. Great that you have coworkers who care enough to haze you on your 40th. Love the "geriatric" tag. (What is the transformer-looking toy to the right of your chair?)

  2. A gift from my partner TIm… a Robosapien V2… with the bold subtitle:
"a fusion of technology and personality"

You gotta love it when the engineers do the marketing…

  3. lol… It was sweet of them to prepare you a gentle landing. The diaper is a little premature… You won’t need that until you are at least 42.

  4. lucky you – cool office too 🙂

  5. Ha ha yes… that’s a great tagline "A fusion of technology and personality."

  6. W00T! Congrats. Careful of the balloons if they stay around till next week. They tend to pop randomly by then. It gets a little unnerving when you’re trying to seal a deal.

  7. That is a very cool surprise! I wonder if you got any work done amongst all these balloons and birthday reminders.

I agree with Vanita, the diaper is a bit premature. One thing they forgot to include in your care package for your over-40 journey, reading glasses. After 40, usually around 42, you will start to need reading glasses with revised prescriptions for a while. Being tall so having long arms, you will tend to keep your paper away from you more naturally and not feel the need as fast as others. But it will inevitably catch up with you eventually. I remind you only out of kindness so you do not get a shock later on. :-)) Overall, the over-40 part of life is better in many ways. You will like it , I am sure. Anyway, it is just a number.

You have a nice bright office with a view on both sides. That is stimulating.

  8. merci!

artwitness: already happened. The black ones explode in the sun… and under max pressure, they are painfully loud….

Or, wait… it it’s too loud, you’re too old

  9. great office feng shui! I wonder if your monitor was always there

  10. Here’s to 40!!! I will soon hit the 30 milestone myself…

That explains the market’s plunge a few weeks back.

    Belated congrats again sir.

I used to live in a warehouse where we had a big fete. Balloons going off at 3:00 a.m. days later frazzled us a bit.

Not as much as our cat though. That was just damned funny.

After using an ipod for three years is anything loud anymore?
