Some zesty weekend winds kicked up a lot of ocean foam…

or maybe it was the dolphins goofing with the suds again…

(but it reminded me of the quantum foam in Crichton’s Timeline)

  1. Crichton? Look out! That’s no ocean! The Grey Goos coming right for ya!

(Those little guys will take mountains and grind them to dust! I’ve seen it!)

  2. So beautiful!!!

I much prefer the dolphins and suds theory.

I am so glad that this is what you had to photograph and show us. I wish I had been there.

I made a breakfast on snow (see photo). Snow is a bit like the foam here.

Seen on your photo stream. (?)

  3. So that’s what quantum foam looks like? You must have use one helluva macro lens! 😉

Seen in my contacts’ photos. (?)

  4. I didn’t really want to think about how notoriously randy dolphins are filling the sea with goo.

  5. heh… it’s party time…

Certassar: Yes! For a macro shot of this scale, you can’t use lenses, mirrors, or even e-beams. I tried all those, but just got an atomistic fabric…

For the foam, you really have to fold space.

  6. What a pretty site of this party addition! I’ve gone to join the dolphins…bye…

  7. its breeding season for the whales

think about that next time you step in 😉

  8. That has to be the nicest photo of foam on flickr. I used it here: photographicdictionary.com/f/foam
