  1. Steve — I really enjoy your photos and how you share your unique view of the world with others.

I have to wonder though, do you ever just feel like not traveling for extended periods of time? I can feel your jetlag/airplane-induced illnesses just looking at the variety of places these photos are taken.

  2. What a lovely scene, the untouched snow is wonderful.

  3. just bunny prints. At night, I saw fox and flying squirrel

kewlio: thanks…. And yes, especially when travelling… Sun Valley is quite a pain to get to; the plane was diverted to Boise for both of our flights, and we had to catch a 3 hour bus ride between airports

  4. So that’s where winter went! (mid-Sixties this weekend).

Well, I suppose the charitable thing for us here in Boston to do at this stage is to tell y’all to go ahead and enjoy our snow. But make sure it’s not all full of broken Pinot bottles and disused TAG Heuer watchbands when you return it to us. Our kids toboggan on that stuff, you know? It’s just simple courtesy.

  5. Thanks for the shot of old haunts. We loved the three hour drive from Boise to Sun Valley and Ketchum (no bank roll to stay in S.V., Ketchum’s more affordable…or was) Of course Bogus Basin wasn’t half bad for being right above us.

Sure do miss the mountains, the snow and the awesome Flyin’ Pie Habenero pizza in Boise.

  6. Steve, have you ridden the MTB up there?

GREAT, great riding all around Sun Valley! I prefer it in the winter but its pretty fantastic in the warm months too.

  7. Snow, snow, snow!!! Lucky you. It just keeps on raining here in Montréal, as elsewhere, even after some rare light snowfall.

It looks like you had a nice walk unless this is close to the chalet. It is a beautiful place. So fresh and pristine!

It sounds like you spent a good part of the trip going there and coming home. Here, it is about one to two hours to either mountain areas north and south of the island of Montréal (depends on your destination and where you are to start) but I promise, no plane or bus to take, just the car (or bus). There are 84 ski centres in Québec, the most in North America, but now, not much snow for those (not me) who ski. :(( List of 77 ski centres in Québec

If you go to the Tremblant ski village, you could even bump into Monsieur et Madame M. Douglas who decided to build a home on a lake here because they were so impressed by the privacy Québécois were giving them (typical of our culture). (I do not know if the house is finished yet.)

The mountain is Mont-Tremblant. Tremblant means trembling.

Seen on your photo stream. (?)

  8. This is a great picture. In fact, I used it on my website: hopamerica.com/sun-valley-idaho. Thank you.
