    Mimosa: the HAL tag was not mine, but I see the family resemblance….

    

    oddwick: oops, that was a tag typo. Should have been "Peleng" not "Pelang"

    It’s a primitive 8mm f/3.5 circular 180° fish-eye lens. This Peleng lens is produced at the Belomo optical factory in Minsk, Belarus, and it took 2 months to arrive from a factory order. It has the look and feel of used military equipment.

    I looked online, and the manufacturer proudly claims to be “the leading producer among former USSR countries of optical systems for armoured vehicles”

    The colors come from the multicoated anti-reflection optics.
