Parts of the LM had to be sturdy…landing legs, etc. But the aluminum pressure bulkhead (i.e., what kept the astronauts alive) was famously flimsy. Chaikin’s "A Man on the Moon" addresses this issue. He says it was as thin as 5/1000 of an inch thick in places. A Grumman workman once dropped a screwdriver, which penetrated the floor. With the cabin pressurized, the front hatch would bulge outward, which was enough to scare John Young. Young, no stranger to danger (he later commanded the first Shuttle test mission) reportedly said "I didn’t know I was volunteering to go on this damn thing in my underwear". LOL.

It was a temporary exhibit at the X-Prize Cup….
They hauled it out to New Mexico… What a treasure…. Did not ask where it was on loan from…
