They couldn’t get insurance for it without roll cages and other safety equipment that they didn’t have the time/money to put in before the show. You would also be fairly surprised to see how little speed that rocket would actually add to the total ‘thrust’ of the vehicle. -
I like the Buckaroo Bonzai references in the notes. That’s the first thing I thought of too…

This reminds me of the Jet Engine powered Beetle that lives in Palo Alto.
It’s street legal. It has been banned from car shows, called a threat to national security and caught the attention of more than a few CHP officers. You might be able to catch it on 280N some late nights, if you don’t blink.Oh, it has a brother too!

Be surprised how little speed the rocket would have added to the vehicle ?. Are you crazy ? And where did the insurance and safety crap fall into place. We went to the x-prize for company promos along with the rocket truck , the rocket porwered bike and the hybrid suitcase.I should know i built the rocket motor system that went into the truck, on my own, on weekends that i didn,t get or ask for pay for. Need to get your story straight before you post.
