I had to prepare in advance for all the items I want to bring to the Black Rock Desert… but not on a plane…

I’m off to the desert…. Will bring cameras….

  2. i’ve used that lens frequently…
    tracks great with "ai servo", and the IS at full zoom!
    it’s a heavy bugger though…
    …makes me realize that there isn’t much in the shot that gives you a sense of scale…. those rockets are frickin’ HUGE!!!

    I brought the V-2 rocket remains back through Reno airport. The bag check guys suggested that I take it carry on. I said that I was covered in rocket propellant and residual explosive charges. “No problem,” they said. “We are not screening for that.” Honesty sometimes surprises me.

    Like when I checked into a hotel and they noticed that the name on my driver’s license did not match my credit card. I just told the truth: “Oh, it’s not my credit card. I am using George’s credit card.” They checked me right in.
