…is the month for big rockets! I am building a fiberglass rocket that I plan to take to over 1000 mph. It has to withstand 35g and the Mach transition that tends to burn the paint and rip the fins off. I also have to get the on-board avionic computer and digital altimeter working to blow the drogue and main chutes at the proper moments. And that, it turns out, is the smallest rocket allowed at BALLS. Everyone else will be flying the big stuff (cruise missile boosters and home-made liquid fuel engines).

We have some other goodies planned for XPRS and BALLS at the end of September…. It’s all very exciting….

… just curious how much fun is it to fly them? I have never been close one going off, so I wouldn’t know. I think in the game, or play, like this great ideas may emerge, but what are they… maybe an idea to fly off in one of the bigger ones. If by any chance men don’t originate on earth this flying may sparks the desire to return home… or leave home. ..the wise force of the earth and wilde force of the sun must have to do with this

  2. absolutely!

ix_silver: very fun. XPRS last year was the most exciting weekend of my life…

Also, I just found a site with more photos and details on that big green Honest John rocket in Nadine’s calendar above…
