The Methuselah Tree is 1800 years old and 14 ft. wide. Seen mountain biking in Skeggs Point today.

Seeing the new Herman Miller jersey got me thinking… Bike saddles are specialized chairs. How could a new design radically improve the bike seat?

(Reminder to self: Steam Donkey downhill, Crossover Trail and Manzinita back up. Under 2 hrs.)

  1. i don´t know… all I can say is that the jersey looks fabulous on you… or it´s you who look fabulous in it, or both, or, uhm, well, dunno, who cares anyway: splendid.

  2. Thats a good route! I go back and forth between Steam Donkey and Blue Blossom for my favorite downhill in Skeggs.

    And Hot jersey!

Funny that you happened upon that Grande Dame of a tree. I’ve been going to Skeggs for years, parking right there at the CMO2 gate and only happened upon her recently. I enjoy the 50’s era sign as well.

As for seats, there have been some pretty bold redesigns over the years, with the biggest moves lately being to protect and improve blood flow to our respective girl and boy bits. That idea has led to many permutations, with the extremes being things like the Spongy Wonder Seat. Sadly, that may be the most revolutionary and well thought out saddle ever, but the marketing wonks will have a hard time swallowing a name like that…

So when is the next ride?
    =)

  3. heh… attack from your strengths… 😉

Benjiman: cool link. I figured you would know what was out there. Seems pretty minimalist. How about something inspired by clipless pedals?

Not sure when the next ride is… Probably Sunday morning. We are planning a ride to the ocean for labor day weekend…

  4. Sorry, I keep on talking about your jersey… does it say anywhere on it that it is (the design) Matisse-inside?

  5. a fine result from the visual search engine…. I also see echoes in the jersey of the branches overhead.

  6. Really, jur-v, that is not a jersey , is a copy-cat! 😉

True about the patterns in the tree too, jeez, another copycat there…

It´s like a very branchy photograph.
