  1. What was wrong with it?

  2. It was being very bad. Started out OK, but then it turned evil. Maybe the pirate ship on the label should have been a clue….

Not sure if it was some bad memory arrays or something with the controller… On some cameras it would allow a few photos, on others, none. On the Casio Z3, it caused a hard crash where no camera functions would work and the display remained black. That was a wild one, and the clincher for the disassembly decision….

Billy: yeah, this one was way cheap and "on sale" with rebates too… Watch out for Corsair I heard someone say…

  3. I’m assuming this was a Fry’s purchase.

  4. Interesting.. My memory cards are among the few things I own that I’ve never taken apart, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a picture of the inside of one yet.
Makes me wonder what the inside of a MicroSD looks like. 🙂

  5. Yaaaaaaar! There be shysty memory off the port bow!

  6. And all made from pretty standard components from the looks of things.
I believe Sony had to withdraw over 10 digital cameras from the market last year because of ‘made in China’ quality problems. Like everything else – it’s still the workmanship in the component assembly that really counts.

  7. I’ve never thought about it before, but I’ve never seen the inside of a memory card either. Very cool.

  8. Memoria Desnuda!
