I don’t think I have seen a rodent swimming before. They are quite fast, just like on land, and can make quick dives. I called this one Ratbert.

They don’t feed they don’t seethe
Bare their gums when they moan and squeak
Lick the dirt off a larger one’s feet
    They don’t push don’t crowd
Congregate until they’re much too loud
Fuck to procreate till they are dead
Drink the blood of their so called best friend

They don’t scurry when something bigger comes their way
Don’t pack themselves together and run as one
Don’t shit where they’re not supposed to
Don’t take what’s not theirs, they don’t compare

    They don’t scam, don’t fight
Don’t oppress an equals given rights
Starve the poor so they can be well fed
Line their holes with the dead ones bread

    Rats, they don’t compare. "

  2. In a way, it is…

in a very intrincate way, i guess. X-P

One of Veder´s love songs… you know the guy could have been a serial killa’, so take it as whom it comes from.

  3. There he goes, trying to make us feel bad again. I think he is romanticizing the ratus…. Remember the earlier thread on the mole rats and the quote from researcher Ray Mendez:
"At one point I had thought the mole rats addressed the Utopian ideal of what it would be like if there were no crime or criminals, if you could say hello to your neighbor and your neighbor would say hello in return and we’d all be assured that no one would attack us with an axe. Is aggression innate in mammals? Well, supposedly not in mole rats. The mole rat was thought to be the only mammal that lives in harmony with its fellow-mammals, its fellow mole rats. The only. But it turns out that mole rats are nonviolent only under certain circumstances – that, in fact, they can be really nasty critters after all, who at times really do seem to hate one another."

  4. mais oui… this is all about it…!!!!

If you listen to the song with headphones and carefully when he says "Raaaatzzzzzzz, they don´t compare…" there´s a background voice and arrangement, which sings right before Eddie: "Mole"… so you hear as a result:

    "[mole] Rats, they don´t compare"

    😉

  5. Monet would have left the muskrat out, but I like it.
    ‘-}

  6. Yes Vanita, I would have croped the little one out but the point of the photo, I guess, was to include it.

The overall image is beautiful. It is a nice composition and the reflection on the water is wonderful.
