A greeting from the snail wrangler
during my veggie gardening phase i would go out on a midnite hunt for snails & slugs… atleast when the plants were really young. the snails and slug met their end in a pail of soap water… sometimes, you could hear a hiss. it was either that, or putting out ‘slug and snail death’, but being organic….
cant say i feel comfortable with that….im just the lizard girl…better than slugs tho….oh and the pic is great. very cool
Here’s a more romantic view of these creatures, the bane of my garden…the kids ooh and ah when I pick them off plants with my hands:
Oh the ‘nanner slugs! My uncle plays a trick when hunting them… he palms a few peach slices, and a quick slight of hand convinces the kids that he is eating them.
:)reminds me of childhood,we use to collect snails with my sister in Estonia.thanks for cute picture.
ah yes, we’ve become a family of snail wranglers for the past year as well, as our boy exults in them crawling all over the front yard after the rains. sorry i haven’t figured out how to paste the pictures, but here’s a link:

Great catch – I know lots of people that would find this nearly unbearable.
I’m pleased to have a found a use for slugs and snails, where before I let them go in the woods.
My neighbour’s chickens love them. Now, when I cluck at them, they come running and I chuck the snails to them.
My version, if you are interested:

Thanks for your kind comment and the link to Slaughter. Are you sure these are bluebells? I’ve never seen them growing in such profusion in the open. They seem to need tree cover?
Wow, this is a different type of harvest 🙂 Lovely if slimy looking shot!!
