“No” means no?

Seen in San Jose, near the Japantown station on the VTA Light Rail, well “after” dark…

  1. if there had been a period after the """ then i’d definitely have taken that as an indication it would be completely acceptable to go skinny dipping of an evening there! *

  2. In this case, I’d interpret "no" to mean "don’t get caught."

  3. Except when it means "YES"…

As Run-DMC would say "Not BAD meaning ‘BAD’, but BAD meaning ‘GOOD’"…

  4. Had this been written, with or without the quotation marks…

No, use of pool is allowed after dark.

…now, this would mean something else! I would also have gone swimming.

Interesting how a period was added at the end.

  5. It’s like they added a 😉

  6. …and there was this wonderful group at Orkut:
"Misused" Quotation Marks -link works only if you are an Orkut member-

    Group´s "description":
Have you ever "noticed" that some "people" seem to use quotation makes in very "inappropriate" places?
Well, this is "your" forum to "share" such "aberrations" of "grammar" or create your own "bad" examples.
    "This" "community" "was" "inspired""by":
    http://www.juvalamu.com/qmarks/

And the group icon depicts the sign:
    Jesus "loves" you

Btw, "After Dark" doesn´t imply "Daylight" actually? If we "want" to be so "literal" that is.

  7. NO EXCEPTIONS [esthr wants one]

  8. atanas: there actually is such a group, and this photo would indeed be "perfect" for it: "Quotation Mark" Abuse.

    ";-)"

  9. a "group" for "that" here "too"… uhm.

Today I read @ the grocers’: "Sweet" Tangerines -it´s important to mention that tangerines were actually yellow/green, so "probably" they "seemed" "bitter" as lemons. However the sign wasn´t too "convincing". The box was "full" as if "no one" had taken even "one".

I "remembered" this thread. LOL! 😀

    Tomatos were "OK". "Fortunately".

  10. I love this. I will interpret it to suit my "needs."

  11. But what if I wanna make a really big batch of lime Jell-o? You’re saying that use of the pool is prohibited?

  12. Hi, I’m an admin for a group called "No", and we’d love to have your photo added to the group.

  13. Hi, I’m an admin for a group called ! no, and we’d love to have this added to the group!

  14. I ran across your image while searching through the Creative Commons pool, and used it in one of my projects. Thank you very much!
