A celebration from 3rd Century India
Still a table top size as I had guessed.
Must be nice and well placed…(if I understand correctly).
Like warrior women? The women in the sculpture look like real women. There is a warrior in all of us. Protecting our family, spouse and children, protecting our homes and livelyhood, all the while remaining feminine and passionate. A true warrior and a true woman!
it´s at home
But you didn´t answer Maesk, did you? Where did you find it first? Or you got the house with the stone in it already?
Found it at a Butterfields art auction… (after having regretfully lost out on the bidding for a righteous 20 ft tall Papua New Guinean totem pole =)
There is a perfect alcove for the ladies, overlooking a tile jacuzzi. They are smiling and looking down to the water as if they want to take a dip.
It sounds just perfect. Thank you for offering this very private view in honour of International Women’s Day. It is a good homage to women.
thank you for sharing. I didn´t mean to be intrusive with my insistance. Now we have the whole picture. =)
Papua New Guinea´s means something very special… so their sculptures I understand you. 😀
I think I would feel little intimidating to have that pink crew watching me while I am in the jakuzzi… 8-/
Gi: actually he did answer my question because I thought he might have photographed it at a museum, didn’t think of the possibility that it could have been at home (nice!). But as you said, now we have the whole picture. The only thing I can’t picture is how the 20ft totem pole would have fitted in the alcove 🙂
Maybe is one of those delightful ancient houses, y´know, with those hiiiigh ceilings… But in that case the totem might have not suitted very well, but for styling reasons… uhm. Odd indeed! 😉
