I wandered off from the Super Bowl party… no idea how it ended…
Did you really care? Truly? Maybe, maybe not.
This is so lovely! The sand, the white waves, the peachy sky at dusk. Oh, it makes one dream!!
Alone is a wonderful way to be, at times. It is never really completely alone. The Universe is with you!
unbelievable….you’ve got some GREAT landscape pictures in your stream and i enjoy them sooo much!
THIS is my idea of a Superbowl party. People one, nature 100:) (hike one, hike two) Pure soul filling beauty this image, thanks for posting it
Hey, I just found out who won the Superbowl… UCLA did a series of real-time fMRI brain scans during the commercials…

"Among the ads that seem relatively successful, I want to single out the Michelob ad. Above is a picture showing the brain activation associated with the ad. What is interesting is the strong response — indicated by the arrow — in ‘mirror neuron’ areas, premotor areas active when you make an action and when you see somebody else making the same action. The activity in these areas may represent some form of empathic response. Or, given that these areas are also premotor areas for mouth movements, it may represent the simulated action of drinking a beer elicited in viewers by the ad. Whatever it is, it seems a good brain response to the ad."
Gotta love the attempt to quantify empathy… =)
It was a Tamron 28-300mm Zoom. A good friend just lent me a 28mm Sigma f1.8 which I want to try out next time….
If it’s on the West Coast, I can give you the coolest pointer to the exact location. I was standing on the outcropping on the right, shooting to the left (North). If you click on the center picture, you can get super high res versions (I can recognize cars and people at that scale).
And you’ll notice that the site has the coast blanketed with photos from low-flying aircraft. The "time comparison" button on the top gives you a 34-year time sequence (I think that was used to bust the Ritz Carlton next door for some undocumented coastal development).
Regarding scanning brains to increase sales… kind of takes the concept of ‘consumer choice’ out of the equation doesn’t it: face it – the average person is no match for teams of people doing corporate research designed to make them a more maleable part of the corporate matrix… ;-).
Well, gotta run since… "its microbrew time".
