    Iris: this was with a cool pocket camera, the Pentax Optio WP. It takes a 1cm macro, and goes underwater.

    Wonderful composition and colors! Great shot! (And I’m intrigued to see that you took this with the Pentax Optio — I’d wanted to take some test shots with it when I was camera-shopping myself, but couldn’t find one in any store 😉 (Pool:Macro 1-2-3)

    Yes, she’s very much alive and full of spunk. All of my insect macros are alive, including
    

    vorion: no flash; it was outdoors in daytime. The Optio has good light sensitivity, very much unlike the Ricoh Caplio R2 (the other camera I tried with a 1cm macro)
