As kids, my friends and I had many tree and ground forts built with scrap lumber scavenged from housing construction projects. The most impressive was a vertical arrangment of many compartments, or stories. I can’t remember exactly how many, but it was at least seven. Some of the adults in our neighbourhood eventually became concerned about its structural safety and removed the top parts, leaving a three story fort.
What are you going to use the tree fort for? Is it a good spot for bird or wildlife observation?
We had a few different tree forts growing up- in La Porte, CA where my Grandparents’ cabin was- and still stands to this day. One, I remember, was built by my cousins and it was really high up- the only way you could get up there was by rope. Have fun, dude!
