What do you want it to do?

  1. I’m enough of a narcissist to want it to beep when there’s been a new comment on my stream!

  2. Tell me weather or not Flickr is "having a massage".

  3. let me know when someone wants to touch base ~ and where (then allow the connect)a kind of yoo hoo from ya hoo ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Begins multi-casting over RF a subset of my photostream (stored in RAM on the keyfob) to any Flickrbees holding a similar fob within listening range.

  5. It’s a give-away quality Web 2.0 Yahoo! schwag "Wi-Fi Finder"!

  6. There is a speaker on the lower right, can you set it to automatically notify you there is a network?

  7. Great thought provoking open ended puzzle. I would like this gadget to tell me when…

…to check on the net to look for a job that arises that’s a match for my qualifications.

… a like-minded person is in the area that I can chat with
….a new camera is reviewed at dpreview
….a good idea that pops into my head really isn’t that great

  8. Wi-fi and Wi-camera finder. Cool Web 2.0 schwag indeed.

  9. [snark]I would like it to quit with the goddamn blinkenlights! Seriously, does EVERY gadget need a couple of flashing LEDs?[/snark]

  10. I’m betting on The Rocketeer‘s proposition. Reminds me of warchalking. Is it a beeper at the right low end ?
But why this should be a Web 2 device. Was common enough (not Yahoo! tagged) before the idea of Web 2 ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. I’m also guessing it’s a WiFi finder, but that’s about the least exciting thing it could be.

If the LEDs were red, green and blue, I’d wish it to be some sort of tiny, pocktable Flickr photo projectr. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Oh, this is not a puzzle, but an aspirational question… Rocketeer and others nailed it.

PepsiVieux: The Web 2.0 tags are there because it was handed out at that conference.

  13. Steve: WiFi finders have been available for some time now, while I do not own one myself (my Tungsten suffices). However, I have never seen one with an auditory interface, does it beep whenever there is a network? Or do you have to explicitely request the info, i.e. pushing the button and looking at the LED’s.

In buzz-speak, does it push or pull the info?
