Cell phone port.

Todd also has a 6th sense. He had a vibratory magnetic sensor implanted in his finger. So he can feel magnetic fields.

  1. Hello! Hello! It’s still no workin. Great Shot

  2. Are we looking at reflected trees, ear hairs through that port or all the way through the head to trees on the other side? I know this isn’t your ear, Steve, because yours turns red when you get a message…

  3. Rocketeer: It’s all the way through the head to trees on the other side. The hole is parallel to the face’s gaze…. so there is a disconcerting moment during a conversation, when you first break on through to the other side.

Terminator 2 must have been equally startled:

  4. Aha! Just as I suspected!

  5. Hey Steve

Great meeting you at the conference this weekend. I havent ever seen my ear from behind, an odd perceptual shift.

    Re: more info…
Old old posting on the implant, if you want to read more for any reason. (http://www.bmezine.com/news/pubring/20040226.html).

    Re: JimmyJane…
The fellow who did the implant work does aesthetic implants as well, including ones on peoples junk. Not my bag, but whatever.

  7. i find it amusing that some people on this list couldn’t identify what the photo was of.

  8. Cool mod. Interesting perspective.

  9. Todd – great piece in Wired! They liked the 6th Sense idea.

  10. Thanks!

I didnt know the author had an implant when I did the interview… if she had told me her implant sheath was failing, I would have told her to get it out immediately! In every interview I have done on the issue, I always stress implant work is very risky and she is the first one to actually pass on the message.

We have a few more interesting and sophisticated implants on the way, I’ll keep you updated. 🙂

  12. heh… Next stop: hair implants to make tattoos more realistic…
