I JUST LOVE THIS! …an archive of auto-sized flickr photos and captions, nicely printed and bound.

It is so much easier to skim a book than slog through the latency of a collection of web pages.

Here’s a link to the automated service from Qoop, Beta-launched today. (You can also see Stewart Butterfield’s book cover there =)

  5. Oh cool, it’s finally available. Been hearing about this service so much…

  6. Steve, this is awesome!! Now for the daunting task of trying to figure out which to print! Thanks!!

  7. This is tres chic! your pictures look super in the book;)

  8. This is very cool, but are entrepreneurs somehow allergic to good UI? Steve, if you invested in this, please spank them.

As just a single example, why does the text for the Thumbnail Book say, "5 rows high and 4 columns across" next to a picture of a page layout 6 columns across?

    Grrrr.

  9. the picture is of the cover.

the internal pages are 5 images x 4 images.

though thinking of giving the thumbnail cover it’s own look.

  10. GREAT idea and oddly anachronistic, and extremely frustrating because, guess what? I want the pictures to remain up to date.

So. When will books on shelves automatically update themselves? When can we expect to download new content onto the acid-free pages of my coffee-table photography book?
