   I agree with Smorgasbord and think it’s a laser pointed into the camera.

   I could also take a guess and say they’re "Emergent fractal abstractions from a red laser pointed straight into the camera."

   Or maybe I’m just completely wrong. It does look like a handprint, with the index finger bitten off. 🙂

   Bingo Smorgasbord, a new winner. Sorry for the delay in seeing this.

   I see that the “taken on” time stamp led the BrassPotato to the earlier photos, and labels. Good sleuthing technique.

   Here is a collection of other strange flares and saturation effects.

   alien paw prints… yes… in a way…. they leave a heat trace…. =)
